Registered Provisional Psychologist (#P6996), supervised by Selena Backman
Hello! I’m Andrea, and I’m so glad you’re considering mental health support for yourself or a loved one. As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, I provide a confidential and accepting environment where you can safely explore your therapy goals.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where we work together to develop counselling goals that are meaningful and tailored to your unique needs. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide our work, helping you build a rich and fulfilling life by embracing your values and navigating life’s challenges with greater flexibility. Additionally, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address traumatic experiences and/or other obstacles that may be preventing you from moving toward your goals or making meaningful changes.
Each session is an opportunity for us to journey together with curiosity and compassion. It’s truly an honour to be part of your healing and growth process. If you’d like to learn more or see if we’re the right fit, I’d be happy to have a phone call to discuss your concerns and goals. I look forward to connecting with you!
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me reading a good book, exploring a new city, or trying out the latest restaurant. I’m passionate about travelling, whether it’s discovering hidden gems in small towns or soaking up the beauty of bustling cities.
I love spending time outdoors - going for a relaxing hike, snowboarding, or simply being near a body of water. At home, I have a dog who’s more like a cat and a cat who’s more like a dog. And when it comes to food, tacos are the ultimate food group.
Growing up in rural central Alberta, I’ve always had a deep connection to nature and a love for the simple joys in life. I take each day as it comes, doing my best to stay true to what matters most to me. Whether I’m outdoors or enjoying a quiet moment at home, I aim to show up authentically and navigate life’s challenges with intention.
