Hey! I’m Brooke and the foundation of therapy is connection. I am here to support you in your therapeutic goals and shift and pivot based upon what you need most out of therapy. I am often grounded by an acceptance and commitment therapeutic approach which focuses on learning to accept the many emotions we feel, but not be controlled by them, and commit to living a life that aligns with our values. I am also grounded by a psychodynamic approach which addresses past situations, feelings, patterns and helps us understand why we might be feeling or acting the way we are in the present. In general, I use a variety of interventions to best support your needs and therapeutic goals.

In addition to working with individuals I also work with couples. I support couples in their relationship goals, developing communication skills and providing a safe space to be open and honest while prioritizing respect. Every relationship looks different and I want to support each couple in a way makes sense for them and their needs.

As a therapist, I value genuineness and commit to bringing that into the therapy room. I also value your own individuality, goals and needs and will always seek to understand your view, world and life.

I have worked in suicide prevention and mental health education across Central Alberta for five years and have a strong passion for mental health support and education. In addition to therapy, I help facilitate different trainings and educational programming here at Social Shift.

Outside the therapy room I love being outside and find it grounding. I have a horse and two border collies and getting out with my animals is one of my favourite pastimes. I also am a big bookworm and enjoy checking out live music. I am an avid crafter, lego builder, gamer, cosplayer, yogi, writer and amusement park lover.
